About

History
Hart-Davidson Designs began as a part-time venture in 2001. Leslie was a showroom manager for a furniture company in upstate New York and responsible for a dozen designers.  However, due to her skills as an accomplished seamstress, showroom designers began to employ her for all of their  sewing needs and eventually a business was born.

Since then HDD has expanded from purely sewing to a wide range of design services which include hour long consultations for: floor plan creation, color selection and furniture arrangement just to name a few. HDD also offers complete concierge service that guides you during the course of your entire design process. Today HDD is thriving in Michigan thanks to a dedication to client relations, a responsibility to philanthropic contribution, active involvement in community education, a partnership with MSU and their academic internship program, and a tremendous collaboration with dedicated subcontractors.
Leslie and her daughter

With extensive training in textiles, sewing, and interior design principals Leslie Hart-Davidson (allied member), ASID, offers her clients a unique approach to design challenges and solutions. Armed with a B.A. in Interior Design and field experience in New York, Leslie uses a combination of personal creativity and core design principles when working with clients’ spaces. Five generations of seamstresses and tailors have passed down a rich inheritance of sewing skills that allow her to hand-create stunning window treatments, bedding, home fashions, and more.

Leslie’s most important skills—those that ensure that each client will be thrilled with the results—are listening, with great care, and observing, with a keen eye for function and fashion. When you invite Leslie Hart-Davidson into your home you begin to see what sets her work apart right away, and when you live in a Hart-Davidson Designs space you’ll have an investment that will enrich your life for years to come.
