Learnin’ Time

Ahhhh….fall. Fall is my favorite time of year because I have such vivid, happy memories of going back to school. I would take great pleasure in selecting my Pigs in Space lunchbox with Miss Piggy thermos, a new trapper keeper
with velcro tab in proper working order, and a thirst for knowledge that just didn’t quit.

I’m happy to report that my desire to learn has morphed into the desire to teach. Sara (my handler and general life manager) has been working hard to schedule me for as many seminars and appearances as possible through the fall (all praise Sara), culminating in the granddaddy of all ‘nars: the Professional Women’s Series at the Kellogg Center on the MSU campus in East Lansing on November 1st, 2007. Last fall’s event was spectacular (it was mama-approved, so that should tell you something), and we’re looking forward to bigger attendance and more cool information from the Color Coward seminar. My pal Paul Mink (the greatest decorative artist on earth) will be joining us for the seminar as well.

Until then, check out all the local seminars ranging from Color Coward to Decorating Your House without Killing Your Spouse to Bright Ideas in Lighting. I’ll be at the Haslett, Dewitt and Holt libraries as well as Case Credit Union. Check the website soon for specific dates as they draw closer. Each hour-long seminar provides both general concepts of the topic along with specific examples and exercises to illustrate how easy it will be for you to implement the design concept in your own home. Following the philosophy that “design is a democracy, not a dictatorship“, each community seminar is free of charge. I’d love to see you there!
